The Opportunity We are representing a fast-growing medical technology organization operating a global CDMO platform and seeking a General Manager to take full ownership of an overseas operation.
This is a country/region head–level role, with end-to-end accountability for building, leading, and scaling the local business.
The General Manager will operate as the most senior executive in-market, responsible for translating global direction into a high-performing, compliant, and scalable operation.
Role Accountability Full-Scope Business Ownership Own the overall performance of the overseas operation, including strategy execution, operational outcomes, and organizational health.
Convert headquarters' strategic intent into clear local priorities and execution plans.
Act as the final decision-maker for day-to-day operations in-market.
Operational Platform & Governance Establish and evolve an operating platform aligned with global quality, compliance, and governance frameworks, appropriate for a medical device CDMO environment.
Ensure operational discipline across quality, delivery, cost, and risk management.
Maintain transparency and structured reporting to global leadership.
Organization & Leadership Build and lead a multi-functional organization, including direct leadership of local management.
Set leadership standards, performance expectations, and decision-making rhythm.
Develop a stable, execution-driven leadership team capable of supporting long-term growth.
Global Interface Serve as the primary interface between headquarters and the overseas organization.
Drive alignment on systems, processes, and operating principles while adapting to local realities.
Ensure consistent execution without over-bureaucratization.
External & Ecosystem Engagement Represent the company with regulators, customers, partners, and industry stakeholders.
Build long-term credibility within the local medical device ecosystem.
Support evaluation of strategic partnerships or expansion opportunities where relevant.
Candidate Profile Industry Background15+ years within the medical device industry, with strong relevance to CDMO / contract manufacturing / platform-based operations.
Solid exposure to regulated manufacturing environments, including quality systems and customer-facing operations.
Experience working within multinational or globally integrated organizations.
Leadership Experience Proven experience leading overseas operations or independent business units with broad accountability.
Track record of building or scaling organizations in international markets.
Functional Strength Background spanning operations, quality, engineering, or integrated general management.
Strong understanding of how operational excellence supports customer trust and long-term partnerships in a CDMO model.
Commercial awareness, even if not from a pure sales background.
