Technical Director - Java Development

We are seeking a seasoned Technical Director with extensive experience across Java, Springboot, and REST API design and implementation to join our growing development team in Dublin.
This Technical Director position will be responsible for shaping technical strategy, refining engineering best practices and processes, and mentoring a wider team. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of hands-on software development experience, with expertise in Java, Springboot, and REST API design and implementation.
The successful candidate will be able to shape the technical direction of the team, drive innovation, and lead by example. They will also be expected to work closely with other teams to ensure seamless collaboration and effective communication.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* Hands-on software development experience with Java, Springboot, and REST API design and implementation.
* Leadership experience with mentorship of a wider team.
* Strong exposure developing Single Page Applications using React, as well as solid knowledge of relational databases.
* Solid understanding of Continuous Integration and Delivery (CICD), Git for version control, and automated testing frameworks.
* Ability to drive technical strategy and refine engineering best practices and processes.
* Experience working in an Agile environment with the ability to integrate Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) and Generative AI into products/platforms.
