Overview
We are seeking a technically strong and compliance‑focused Senior Financial Accountant to lead financial reporting and ensure robust financial control across the organisation.
This role is central to maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and regulatory compliance of financial information, while providing expert guidance on complex accounting matters in line with IFRS / Irish GAAP.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting
Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Lead production of statutory accounts in line with IFRS / Irish GAAP.
Provide technical guidance on complex areas such as revenue recognition, leases, provisions.
Produce management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
Own and enhance accounting policies and internal control frameworks, ensuring robust financial governance and regulatory compliance.
Compliance & Financial Control
Ensure compliance with regulatory, statutory, and reporting requirements.
Maintain a strong financial control environment, including balance sheet integrity, reconciliations, and journal review.
Lead audit processes, acting as key contact for external auditors.
Monitor and implement changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Month‑End & Financial Integrity
Ensure accuracy and completeness of the general ledger and underlying financial data.
Review complex journals, accruals, and reconciliations.
Ensure the integrity and accuracy of period‑end financial reporting through robust review of journals, accruals, and reconciliations.
Business Partnering & Improvement
Partner with stakeholders to provide financial insight and technical advice.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes.
Drive process improvements, automation, and system enhancements.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience
Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
Proven experience in a Senior Financial Accountant or similar role.
Strong background in statutory reporting, audit, and compliance.
Experience operating in a controlled, deadline‑driven environment.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of IFRS / Irish GAAP.
Expertise in financial reporting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
Experience with ERP systems.
Advanced Excel skills.
