Grant & O'Brien Cleaning Services a small Limerick based company is seeking an ambitious, commercially aware and operationally strong Operations Business Manager to take responsibility for overseeing and strengthening the full day-to-day operations of the business.
Working directly with the Managing Director, this role will play a central part in ensuring the company operates efficiently, profitably and in alignment with its growth ambitions. The successful candidate will coordinate operational delivery across all departments, manage contract performance, support business development initiatives and help position the company for expansion into new sectors and larger tenders.
This is a hands-on leadership role within a growing Irish SME. It requires someone who understands operational detail but also recognises how operations, finance, marketing and sales interconnect to drive overall business performance.
The Operations Business Manager will oversee commercial and construction cleaning contracts, ensuring service standards, labour allocation and operational discipline are consistently maintained. They will coordinate supervisors, office administration and compliance functions to ensure clear communication, accountability and structured reporting across the organisation.
The role requires strong awareness of labour costing, budgeting and contract profitability. The successful candidate must understand how operational decisions impact margins and financial performance, and ensure that cost control and resource planning support sustainable growth.
Working closely with the Managing Director, the Operations Business Manager will contribute to business strategy by translating company objectives into practical operational action. This includes supporting tender preparation, providing operational input into new business opportunities and ensuring the business is fully prepared to deliver on new contracts.
The role also carries responsibility for maintaining ISO 9001 standards and ensuring Health & Safety compliance across all operational sites. Documentation, procedures, risk assessments and quality systems must remain robust, structured and audit-ready.
We are seeking a proactive and business-minded professional with strong operational experience within cleaning, facilities or contract services. The ideal candidate will be confident managing teams, commercially aware, growth-focused and motivated to move the business forward. They will be structured, decisive and capable of implementing process improvements that strengthen performance across departments.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organisational and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple operational priorities and a clear understanding of how strategic objectives are translated into measurable operational outcomes.
Qualifications:
* A degree in Business, Operations Management or a related discipline
* IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent Health & Safety certification (advantageous)
* Additional professional certifications or relevant industry training beneficial
* Experience within ISO 9001 environments and exposure to multi-site contract management will be highly regarded.
