Inform3 are recruiting for a Junior Civil Engineer to support the delivery of rail infrastructure and civil engineering projects across Louth/Meath.
This role offers a balanced mix of office-based design and planning duties alongside practical site experience, providing an excellent foundation for developing core civil engineering skills within the rail sector.
Junior Civil Engineer Key Responsibilities
Assist in the design and development of civil engineering solutions for rail projects (e.g. drainage, earthworks, structures, and track support systems)
Produce and review technical drawings, calculations, and reports
Support the preparation of design documentation, method statements, and risk assessments
Undertake site visits to carry out inspections, surveys, and quality checks
Monitor site activities to ensure works are delivered in line with design specifications and health & safety standards
Collaborate with contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams
Assist in resolving engineering and construction issues on-site and in design stages
Maintain accurate records of site activities, materials, and progress
Junior Civil Engineer Requirements
Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline
Basic understanding of civil engineering principles (e.g. structural behaviour, geotechnics, drainage)
Strong interest in infrastructure and rail projects
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Good organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Willingness to work on-site in varying conditions as well as in an office environment
Full Irish driving licence (preferred)
