Occupational Therapist - Mental Health
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary mental health service.
This service provides specialist care to adults with complex and enduring needs, delivering evidence-based interventions for individuals with conditions such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's Disease, Huntington's Disease, early-onset dementias, schizophrenia, and mood disorders.
Care is provided within a collaborative team including Psychiatry, Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, Speech & Language Therapy, Dietetics, Physiotherapy, and General Practice.
The post holder will work with residents who have severe and enduring mental illness and complex needs, leading and managing their own caseload while contributing to high-quality, person-centred care.
Main Responsibilities:
* Deliver high-standard Occupational Therapy in line with local and national standards
* Undertake assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of interventions
* Collaborate with residents, families, carers, and colleagues on care planning
* Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation
* Contribute actively to multidisciplinary teamwork and clinical governance
* Participate in supervision and continuous professional development
Candidate Requirements:
* CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist
* Degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent)
* Eligibility for membership with AOTI
* Strong knowledge of statutory regulations relevant to healthcare
* Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
* Proficient IT skills
* Energetic, responsible, and patient-focused approach
