OverviewSenior Mechanical Engineer (Dublin & Cork) – We are seeking Senior Mechanical Engineers & Senior Mechanical Design Engineers in Dublin & Cork to lead the delivery of high-quality mechanical design and project solutions within the building services sector. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with leadership and coordination skills, capable of taking ownership of the full mechanical design process, from concept to completion, across a variety of projects and sectors. You will be working with well-established multidisciplinary teams, managing design delivery, BIM coordination, and client engagement, while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring best-in-class engineering standards. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to take the next step in their career, joining a forward-thinking consultancy where technical excellence, innovation, and career progression are core priorities.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the mechanical design on projects of varying size and complexity, ensuring technical excellence and design coordination across all disciplines.Deliver detailed designs through the full project lifecycle, from concept and planning through to construction and handover.Oversee the production of design documentation, including calculations, specifications, and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.Apply and coordinate BIM processes to achieve integrated design delivery.Liaise with clients, architects, and other engineering teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration.Manage project budgets, schedules, and quality control processes to achieve successful outcomes.Provide mentoring and technical support to junior team members, fostering professional growth and maintaining high standards of delivery.Represent the company in client meetings, site visits, and design reviews as required.Experience & QualificationsDegree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.6-10 years subexperience in mechanical design within a building services consultancy.Proven track record of leading mechanical design packages and coordinating with other disciplines.Strong technical understanding of:- HVAC, heating/LTHW, water services, fuel, BMS, and above-ground drainage systems.- Relevant building regulations (Irish TGD Parts B, F, G, L or equivalent UK standards).Proficiency in BIM and familiarity with establishing BIM workflows and coordination protocols.Experience with thermal modelling, energy assessments, or dynamic simulation software advantageous.Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.Commercially aware, with experience managing budgets and delivering profitable projects.Chartership (or working towards it) desirable.Key AttributesA collaborative, proactive, and solutions-driven mindset.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.A passion for sustainable, innovative design and continuous improvement.Candidates must be eligible to work full time and long term in the location specified or currently hold a valid appropriate long term work Visa to apply.
