About the Role
Purpose of role
The Team Leader will work directly with the Centre Management Team to assist in managing the residential Centre's daily operations. They will play an integral role in practice, delivering a high-quality, integrated approach to enable young people at Orchard Residential Care to achieve positive outcomes. The Team Leader will promote a respectful, non-discriminatory, and diverse culture within the organization.
The role includes administrative duties, staff development, and ensuring the implementation of Placement Plan objectives for young people, guaranteeing the delivery of quality services.
The Team Leader is accountable for the Centre's functioning in the absence of the Person in Charge or Deputy Manager and reports to the Deputy Manager, Person In Charge, or Regional Director of Services in their absence.
Responsibilities
* Work closely with the Centre Manager and Deputy Manager to create a safe, caring, and professional environment for young people and staff.
* Provide frontline care and develop professional relationships with staff, young people, and their families.
* Assist in overseeing the Centre's operations in accordance with national standards and legislation.
* Lead the therapeutic approach alongside the manager and team, coordinating appointments.
* Liaise with professionals regarding care plans, referrals, and inspections.
* Oversee key working and report progress/issues to the manager.
* Maintain files according to standards and report issues.
* Participate in meetings with outside professionals to promote the organization.
* Act in the absence of the Deputy Manager/Manager for periods exceeding one week.
* Uphold confidentiality in staff discussions.
* Facilitate open communication between staff and management.
* Understand and assist in implementing policies, procedures, and health and safety standards.

Essential Requirements
* Qualification at Level 7 or above, eligible for registration as a Social Care Worker with CORU.
* At least 2 years of full-time relevant experience working with children/young persons.
* Full manual driving license valid in Ireland.
* Full eligibility and availability to work without restrictions.
