Position: Senior Design Engineer – REF: 2621 (Cork, with consideration for Dublin, Galway, and Portlaoise).
Responsibilities
Design and manage projects from conceptual phase through to completion in energy and utilities sectors, covering building services/energy upgrades, renewables (biogas, biomass, CHP, solar, hydro, industrial utilities), pipelines, and installations (gas, oil, water, wastewater).
Develop industrial and building services utilities design, HVAC, steam, refrigeration, and compressed air systems.
Lead energy retrofit upgrades of buildings and building fabric.
Create preliminary and detailed design calculations.
Prepare design drawings, specifications, and design reports at conceptual, preliminary, and detailed stages.
Balance of plant design.
Design and implement energy saving projects.
Participate in HAZID/HAZOP and LOPA studies.
Carry out PSDP role.
Qualifications
Mechanical engineering degree (Honours bachelor’s or higher) or a related discipline.
Minimum 7 years post‑graduate relevant design experience; CEng is beneficial but not required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent computer skills.
Strong academic record.
Full clean driving licence and own transport.
Fluent in written and spoken English.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
