Be the right hand to a business owner helping organisations reach their potential
Lucey is a collection of businesses. We
acquire small companies with unrealised potential
and help them succeed through stronger financial discipline, smarter technology, better organisation, and improved people practices.
We're looking for an exceptional
Executive Assistant to Ian Lucey
, owner of Lucey Fund, to play a pivotal role in the smooth running of both professional and personal operations.
This is a high-trust, high-impact role for someone who is
naturally organised, proactive, discreet, and calm under pressure
—someone who enjoys anticipating needs and making life easier for a busy decision-maker.
What you'll be doing
As Executive Assistant, you will act as Ian's right hand: protecting time, ensuring priorities are clear, and enabling focused execution every day.
Inbox & Communication Management
* Take full ownership of Ian's inbox, triaging messages and responding on his behalf where appropriate
* Manage communications with internal teams and external contacts clearly, professionally and promptly
Full Diary Control (Personal + Professional)
* Proactively manage a complex and fast-changing diary with minimal supervision
* Balance competing priorities and plan ahead so Ian is always prepared and focused on the highest-value work
Meetings, Productivity & Follow-Through
* Prepare for meetings, capture actions, and ensure follow-ups are completed
* Support documents, presentations, proposals and written materials as needed
* Use technology to streamline admin and improve productivity (including strong use of
MS Office
)
Travel Planning & Time Leverage
* Coordinate travel when needed, with a focus on efficiency and value
* Build itineraries that maximise time, energy, and productivity
Privacy & Confidentiality (Non-Negotiable)
* Handle highly sensitive personal and business information with absolute discretion
* Act with mature judgement, integrity, and professionalism at all times
* Adhere to strict confidentiality requirements that extend beyond employment
What success looks like in this role
You'll be successful if:
* Ian's time is protected, priorities are clear, and the day runs smoothly
* Communication is handled proactively - nothing important is missed, delayed, or left unresolved
* Meetings are well prepared and actions are followed through quickly
* Admin and documentation are handled efficiently, accurately, and with great attention to detail
* Sensitive information is managed with total discretion and excellent judgement
* You're trusted as the "go-to person" who creates calm, clarity and momentum
About you
This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in being highly dependable.
You'll be a great fit if you are:
* Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities calmly
* Naturally proactive - you anticipate problems and solve them before they become issues
* Confident communicating on behalf of a senior leader
* Strong with systems, planning, and follow-through
* Comfortable using
MS Office
to a high standard (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
* Trustworthy, discreet, and values confidentiality
* Composed, reliable, and professional in fast-moving situations
Experience
* Experience in an
Executive Assistant role
(or a similarly high-trust support role) is important
* This is a
standalone EA role
, so you'll be comfortable working independently and taking ownership
Why this role matters
The right Executive Assistant will enable Ian to focus on where he creates the most value - building relationships, leading the business, and helping companies through their next stage of growth.
If you take pride in helping others perform at their best and want to play a key role in a growing, ambitious group, we'd love to hear from you.
Working style
This role is
predominantly office-based in South Dublin near UCD
.
WFH may be available occasionally, for example when Ian is travelling, but this position will suit someone who enjoys being hands-on and close to day-to-day priorities.
Travel is expected to be
low
and will be the exception rather than the norm.
Salary & contract
* Salary:
€40,000
* Contract:
Permanent
* Start date:
