Job Title: Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist - Pectus Service

Hours: Part-time, 10 hours per week
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist to join a specialist Pectus Service. This role is ideal for an experienced physiotherapist who is passionate about delivering advanced musculoskeletal and orthopaedic care, driving service development, and contributing to clinical leadership in a patient-centred environment.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Professional:
1. Coordinate and deliver an effective and efficient Pectus Physiotherapy Service based on patient needs.
2. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new developments, technology, and best practice in physiotherapy.
3. Contribute to clinical audits, research, and ongoing professional development.
Management & Service Development:
4. Actively contribute to the management and development of the physiotherapy service.
5. Participate in induction, appraisal, education, and in-service training programmes.
6. Maintain accurate records and service statistics.
7. Regularly review and update service policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
8. Support quality assurance and accreditation requirements.
Leadership & Staff Development:
9. Lead by example in professionalism, dedication, and teamwork.
10. Promote ongoing learning and professional development within the team.
11. Provide intra-disciplinary education to promote physiotherapy services.
Person Specification
Qualifications:
12. Degree in Physiotherapy.
13. Registration with CORU is essential.
14. Membership of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists is desirable.
Experience:
15. Minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience in Orthopaedic or Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy.
16. Postgraduate qualification in Orthopaedics, Musculoskeletal practice, or related specialism is desirable.
Skills & Competencies:
17. Expert clinical knowledge and reasoning in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic physiotherapy.
18. Strong ability to deliver patient-centred care within a multi-disciplinary team.
19. Experience in service planning, policy development, and research.
20. Evidence of continuing professional development ( Strength & Conditioning training).
21. Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
22. Ability to balance clinical and management responsibilities.
