On behalf of our client, a 4* Hotel in Donegal, Ireland, we are looking for a Commis de Cuisine*
*Main duties:
* Preparing meal ingredients, which includes seasoning of different meats as well as washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and fruits.
* Accurately measuring meal ingredients for the Chef de Partie.
* Preparing basic salads and sauces as directed by the Chef de Partie.
* Receiving deliveries and verifying that all ordered items have been delivered and are of good quality.
* Taking inventory of restaurant supplies and notifying the supervisor of low or depleted supplies.
* Discarding all expired and spoiled food items stored in the stock rooms, refrigerators, and freezers.
* Performing basic cleaning duties and ensuring that workstations are properly sanitized.
* Plating and presenting meal items as per the Chef de Partie's instructions.
* Completing closing duties, including storing all reusable goods, breaking down goods, cleaning all equipment and areas.
The ideal candidate will:
* A passion for all things food and beverage
* An ability to help train and supervise team members ensuring they deliver consistent quality of service
* High school diploma or GED.
* Associate's degree, diploma, or certification in culinary arts is advantageous.
* Proven commercial kitchen experience.
* Excellent organizational skills.
* Effective communication skills.
* Speak English fluently
* A strong understanding of the high standards that are demanded from a 4* and 5* establishments
* Be creative minded with a passion and respect for the provenance of food
* Relish the pressure of a busy restaurant environment
