Overview:
We currently have an opening for an Interim (24-month) Sr. Specialist/Expert Specialist-Analytical (Laboratory Analyst) position within the global Monoclonal Antibody Network TS/MS (Technical Services/Manufacturing Sciences) team. This position is based within the non-GMP Large Molecule TS/MS labs at Kinsale Co Cork Ireland.
The Sr. Specialist/Expert Specialist-Analytical is responsible for conducting various analytical procedures to support testing of process intermediate samples from both the Kinsale Large Molecule Site and Monoclonal Antibody Network TS/MS groups. The role also supports establishment of new methodology within the laboratory and the installation and maintenance of equipment, associated methods and procedures. The Expert Specialist will normally work under the technical supervision of a Sr. Scientist (Analytical Chemist), who will provide technical oversight for the analytical testing.

Associate Director - TS/MS Monoclonal Network
Key responsibilities:
* Conducting various analytical procedures as defined by the TSMS analytical group's methods.
* Tabulating and consolidating assay results, lead times and other performance indicators and be capable of presenting informal reports of results to immediate supervision and their peers in the TSMS group.
* Entering results into a laboratory notebook, as well as performing testing using automated systems.
* Working with a high level of analytical instrumentation, the Laboratory Analyst may be involved in the qualification of these instruments and in their routine maintenance.
* Development and verification of new methodologies, as part of new product introductions or process improvement activities.
* Recognising and troubleshooting atypical assay behavior and normally encountered equipment failure.
* Following all relevant Environmental, Health and Safety procedures and will be involved in incident investigations as required.
* Maintenance of an inventory of chemicals and supplies used to perform analytical testing.
* Assisting in the training of other personnel and as his/her level of skill develops, may be responsible for the full training of other Analysts.
Basic Requirements:
* Minimum B.Sc. (Hons) in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related Laboratory Science subject required.
* Minimum 2-years' experience with relevant analytical methodology [bio-analytical techniques including UV-spectroscopy, separations (HPLC/UPLC, CE, PAGE) and plate-based methods (ELISA, etc)] within a pharmaceutical manufacturing support setting.

* Excellent communication (written, oral, listening) skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in execution.
* Customer focus - takes personal responsibility for speed, quality and accuracy of delivery.
* Self-motivated, positive and ability to work under pressure.
* The Laboratory Analyst is knowledgeable of general scientific methods and is capable of learning and executing new techniques and instrumentation after appropriate training.
