Our Engineering Research and Development (ER&D) department is a fast-growing division within Tata Technologies, working on exciting global projects across Automotive, Aerospace, and Industrial Heavy Machinery sectors.
ROLE SUMMARY
The charging group requires test resources to perform functional safety relevant subsystem testing for upcoming Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) programs. System testing will be conducted using Hardware In The Loop (HIL) test assets located in Shannon, Ireland.
We are seeking 2 embedded systems test engineers for a six-month onsite assignment. These engineers will join the JLR functional safety system engineering team, responsible for comprehensive testing of the functional safety functions within the high voltage power supply system.
The work will be part of the customer’s functional safety system engineering team, focusing on testing the safety functions of the high voltage power supply system.
The project duration is a minimum of 6 months.
AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
The engineers will support the onsite team and the broader functional safety system engineering team in the following activities:
* Presence onsite 5 days a week at the customer workshop in Shannon.
* Participation in all team meetings as required.
* Documentation of work activities completed.
* Raising impediments promptly with the team.
* Applying knowledge and experience with embedded systems for power electronics components such as On Board Charging, DC to DC converters, Battery Energy Management, Battery Management Systems, supervisory circuits, and functional safety processes like ISO26262.
* Utilizing National Instruments test equipment including PXI, data acquisition cards, CAN, LIN, Ethernet cards, and analog output cards, as well as tools like TestStand, VeriStand, and LabVIEW.
* Implementing automated tests to measure accurate timing sequences.
* Modeling components within closed-loop testing methods in HIL systems.
* Supporting lessons learned and continuous improvement activities across programs.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
* Reviewing requirements and test documentation.
* Creating test strategies based on analysis of test items and methods.
* Authoring test cases approved through JLR processes.
* Leveraging test automation.
* Executing tests and reporting results.
* Raising product defects.
* Developing and maintaining HIL test assets.
* Preparing project closure reports, including test reports and asset documentation.
* Planning handovers for any outstanding work at contract end.
