Social Care Worker / Senior Support Worker

About the Role
As we continue to expand our services to meet the needs of those we care for, we currently have several opportunities within our Orchard Community Care division in Waterford City for full-time and part-time Social Care Workers.
We invite you to join our team to provide residential and day services to children and adults with medium to profound disabilities, including those with life-limiting conditions. Our multidisciplinary teams are supported by psychologists, behavioral therapists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists.
Working on a rolling shift rota, you will engage in daily activities and routines, providing dedicated support to the people we care for and contributing to their development, health, and wellbeing.
Essential Requirements:
* Hold a qualification at Level 7 or above in a relevant area (e.g., Social Care, Social Science, Psychology, Education, Youth & Community).
* Full manual driving license with full eligibility to drive in Ireland.
* Full eligibility and availability to work with us.
Desirable:
* At least one year of recent experience in the social services sector.
Main Responsibilities:
* Support the day-to-day running of the service and deliver a person-centred approach to support and care.
* Ensure residents' personal plans are completed in line with regulations and standards.
* Proactively support individuals in their daily lives and choices.
* Engage with families, clinicians, and build community links.
* Implement positive support programs.
* Promote independence and community integration.
* Stay updated on social care policies and sectoral/national changes related to disability services.
* Motivate and support individuals to engage in planned activities of their choice.
* Lead key working in consultation with the supported individuals, encouraging meaningful engagement.
* Assist with personal care and daily needs of the individuals.
* Work as part of a team, supporting colleagues and attending team meetings and supervisions.
* Perform health and safety checks, risk assessments, and report accordingly.
* Manage medication administration in line with policy.
* Liaise with multidisciplinary teams, families, and other stakeholders.
* Work flexible shifts, including day and night, to meet service needs.
* Perform other duties as required within the scope of the role.
