Summary:Our client, a biopharmaceutical company, is seeking an experiencedInternational Payroll Specialistto join their team based in East Cork. In this role, the ideal candidate will support the administration, auditing, and accounting of payroll processes across multiple international locations. The team manages payroll operations across approximately 40 countries spanning EMEA, LATAM, Asia Pacific, and Canada. The successful candidate will work closely with external payroll providers and internal HR and Finance stakeholders to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payroll and payroll accounting services across all regions.Responsibilities:Partner with HR and external payroll providers to ensure the accurate and consistent flow of payroll data, in line with local country legislation and requirements.Administer and audit payroll processes across multiple countries, ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on time.Perform month-end payroll accounting activities, including journal preparation, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.Act as the payroll lead for assigned countries, developing a strong understanding of local payroll and statutory requirements.Ensure appropriate controls are in place, with month-on-month changes reviewed, reconciled, and clearly explained.Schedule, participate in, and facilitate payroll-related meetings and presentations as required.Prepare and deliver timely and accurate payroll reporting to internal and external stakeholders.Process employee payroll and payroll-related tax payments, ensuring all monthly and annual statutory obligations are met.Maintain payroll documentation, including control documentation, process flows, and standard operating procedures.Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and service delivery.Manage payroll-related queries through the ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution and appropriate record-keeping.Liaise with external providers on complex payroll matters, including expatriate payrolls and international assignments.Support internal and external audits, ensuring payroll data integrity and compliance.Provide support on payroll-related projects and initiatives as required.Qualifications & Experience:Accounting qualification preferred.Proven experience in payroll and accounting within a shared services or multi-country corporate environment preferred.Payroll accounting knowledge, including reconciliations, accruals, and statutory reporting.Experience working with external payroll providers across multiple jurisdictions.High level of proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, with demonstrably strong Excel skills.
