Our team includes psychologists, assistant psychologists, psychotherapists, speech and language therapists, and occupational therapists. We pride ourselves on providing affirming, evidence-based support that recognises and celebrates neurodiversity.The RoleWe are seeking an experienced and passionate Occupational Therapist to join our team on a contract basis. This role offers the unique opportunity to work with neurodivergent individuals across the lifespan - children, adolescents, and adults - providing comprehensive understanding of sensory, motor, and functional needs throughout development.You will work collaboratively within our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, neurodiversity-affirming occupational therapy that empowers clients to thrive in their daily lives.Essential RequirementsQualifications & RegistrationBSc/MSc in Occupational TherapyRegistration with CORU (Occupational Therapists Registration Board)Current professional indemnity insuranceEligible for Garda vettingExperience & KnowledgeExperience working with neurodivergent individuals (Autism, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental differences)Understanding of neurodiversity-affirming approachesKnowledge of sensory processing differences and sensory integration approachesExperience conducting functional assessments and developing intervention plansStrong report writing and documentation skillsSkills & AttributesExcellent assessment and clinical reasoning skillsAbility to work with diverse presentations across different age groupsStrong communication skills with clients, families, and multidisciplinary team membersCreative and flexible approach to interventionCommitment to ongoing professional developmentCollaborative team playerComfortable working in both in-person and remote settingsDesirable ExperienceFormal training in sensory integration or sensory-based interventionsExperience with motor skills assessments and interventionsKnowledge of assistive technology and environmental adaptationsExperience working in multidisciplinary teamsTraining in specific OT assessment toolsExperience supporting school accommodations and workplace modificationsUnderstanding of PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) profileExperience delivering parent/family training and workshopsKey ResponsibilitiesAssessment & EvaluationConduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments across the lifespan (children, adolescents, and adults)Complete sensory processing evaluationsAssess fine motor, gross motor, and visual-motor skillsEvaluate activities of daily living (ADLs) and functional independenceAssess environmental barriers and enablersAdminister and score standardized assessment toolsIntervention & TreatmentDevelop and implement individualized, neurodiversity-affirming intervention plansProvide sensory-based interventions and strategiesSupport development of motor skills, coordination, and praxisFacilitate adaptive strategies for daily living activitiesProvide recommendations for environmental modifications and accommodationsSupport self-regulation and emotional regulation strategiesDeliver therapy in individual and group settings when appropriateCollaboration & LiaisonWork collaboratively within our psychology-led multidisciplinary teamAttend MDT meetings to discuss cases and share expertiseLiaise with families, schools, employers, and other professionals as requiredProvide consultation and training to parents, teachers, and other professionalsCollaborate on comprehensive assessment reports when working alongside psychologistsDocumentation & ReportingMaintain accurate and timely clinical notesWrite comprehensive OT assessment reportsDevelop clear, practical recommendations for families and other professionalsWrite letters and correspondence to schools, employers, and servicesContribute to multidisciplinary reports when requiredProfessional Development & Team ContributionAttend mandatory peer supervision sessionsParticipate in team meetings and case discussionsEngage in ongoing professional development and trainingContribute to service development and quality improvementStay current with evidence-based practice in neurodiversity and occupational therapyProfessional Development OpportunitiesThis role offers valuable experience including:Lifespan experience: Work with children, adolescents, and adults, gaining comprehensive understanding of occupational needs across developmentExposure to diverse neurodivergent presentations and co-occurring conditionsCollaborative multidisciplinary working with psychologists, psychotherapists, SLTs, and APsSupervision and mentorship from senior cliniciansTraining in neurodiversity-affirming practiceOpportunity to develop specialist skills in neurodevelopmental occupational therapyContract TermsContract Type: Self-employed basis (sole trader)Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week (flexible arrangement)Working Arrangements: Hybrid (in-person at Capel Street office and remote/online sessions)Rate: Commensurate with level of experienceProbation Period: 3-month initial probationary periodSupervision: Provided by senior staff memberPayment: Paid gross;
