Key Responsibilities
* Conduct and oversee
end-to-end KYC reviews
for new client onboarding, periodic reviews, and event-driven reviews in line with internal policy and regulatory standards (e.g., CBI, EU AMLD, FATF).
* Perform
enhanced due diligence (EDD)
on higher-risk clients, including complex structures, PEPs, and high-risk jurisdictions.
* Ensure accuracy and quality of KYC files, escalating potential risks and red flags to management and Compliance.
* Act as a
point of escalation
for junior team members and provide coaching, feedback, and subject matter expertise.
* Liaise with internal stakeholders (Front Office, Compliance, Legal, Risk) and external parties to resolve documentation queries efficiently.
* Monitor and track KYC workflow, ensuring SLAs and regulatory deadlines are met.
* Support audit, regulatory inspections, and internal reviews by providing clear documentation and explanations of KYC decisions.
* Contribute to the
continuous improvement of KYC processes
, systems, and controls, including automation and standardisation initiatives.
* Keep abreast of evolving AML/KYC regulations in Ireland, the EU, and globally, ensuring that best practices are adopted.
Skills & Experience Required
* 5+ years of KYC/AML experience
in financial services, preferably within investment banking, asset management, or corporate banking.
* Strong knowledge of
Irish and EU AML/KYC regulations
(e.g., CBI requirements, EU AMLD, FATF guidance).
* Proven ability to manage
complex client structures
, including trusts, funds, SPVs, corporates, and partnerships.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and assess financial crime risks.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience interacting with senior business leaders.
* Track record of
leading or mentoring junior analysts
in a KYC or financial crime function.
* Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
* Proficiency with KYC/AML tools and systems (e.g., World-Check, LexisNexis, Refinitiv, Actimize).
