Senior Researcher - Wireless Sensing and UAV Network Expert

We are seeking a skilled Senior Researcher to lead our team in the development of cutting-edge wireless sensing and UAV network technologies. As a key member of our research group, you will design and implement signal processing algorithms to detect, classify, and localize cellular, Wi-Fi, and other types of wireless communications signals.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design and implement signal processing algorithms for wireless sensing and UAV networks.
* Develop and deploy software-defined radios for real-world trials involving ground transmitters and UAVs.
* Disseminate research achievements through publications in leading journals and conferences.
* Secure research funding from Irish and European funding agencies and strategic industry partners.
* Participate in mentoring activities, education, and public engagement activities within the group.

Essential Criteria:

* PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
* At least 8 years of post-PhD experience in computer science, wireless communications, or a related field.
* Good knowledge of cellular communication systems at the physical (PHY) and MAC layers.
* Demonstrated proficiency in mathematical modeling tools such as C++, Python, MATLAB, and Julia.
* Excellent publication record in IEEE or ACM journals and conference publications.

Desirable Criteria:

* Evidence of entrepreneurial experience and creative skills/creativity.
* Experience in prototyping and testing of wireless communication systems in real-world conditions.
* Good familiarity with cellular (4G, 5G) and Wi-Fi standards.
* History of secured research funding from government agencies or industry.
