T Post ID: Post Summary The Electronic Resources Librarian is responsible for managing the Library's electronic resources, including databases, e-journals, and e-botwooks, for users both on and off campus.
The Electronic Resources Librarian works closely with the Acquisitions & Subscriptions Librarian to populate and maintain the Librarys electronic resource management systems, and with the Systems Librarian to maintain authentication and link resolver tools.
The post-holder sets up and maintains access for existing, new and trial electronic resources, and liaises with staff in Acquisitions & Metadata to ensure e-resources are discoverable via the Library web pages and resource discovery systems.
A key responsibility is monitoring and analysing the use of e-resources to measure value and impact.
The Electronic Resources Librarian is responsible for resolving access issues and communicating with vendors, publishers and library staff regarding such issues.
This position also supports Library staff in developing and maintaining awareness of emerging technologies, standards, and technical issues relating to the acquisition, licensing, access, and usage of electronic resources.
Post status: Specific Purpose Contract The specific purpose of this post is for filling a vacancy on a temporary basis, pending the return of the substantive postholder from a temporary assignment.
Employment is not offered on an indefinite duration basis, as the original postholder is expected to return.
If the postholder does not return to work, the post will be filled through open competition.

Hours of Post: Part-Time (0.5 FTE) Salary: This appointment will be made on the Assistant Librarian 2 Salary Scale (€46,242 - €63,550 per annum, pro rata ) at a point in line with current Government pay policy.
