Job Summary

The Member Services Officer is responsible for providing high-quality services to members through various channels, including telephone, in-person, email, online, and virtual platforms. This role requires a team player who can work effectively with colleagues to ensure that members' requests and queries are handled consistently and efficiently, in line with credit union policy.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide exceptional member service at the counter, on the phone, or through email, ensuring that members receive friendly, accurate, and timely assistance.
* Assist members with all aspects of credit union business, including membership applications, account transactions, loan applications, nominations, and insurance claims.
* Open accounts for new members and issue documentation and items of general information as required.
* Filing of credit agreements, withdrawal forms, and other office documents.
* Preparation of reports as needed.
* Direct members to other credit union personnel as required.
* Take part in initiatives to increase membership and promote service uptake, assisting in implementing marketing plans.

Compliance and Transaction Processing:
* Evaluate data protection compliance with legislation, regulations, and credit union policies.
* Ensure Anti-Money Laundering (AML) duties are met, adhering to AML legislation, regulations, and credit union policies.
* Deal with members concerning lodgements and withdrawals, balancing and lodging receipts, processing small loans within agreed limits, and completing end-of-day procedures.
* Process Budget Current account transactions.

Lending and Candidate Requirements:
* Process loan applications and refer them to lending staff when necessary.
* Assist with collecting loan payments due and overdue.
* Disburse loans within credit union policy guidelines.
* Must possess QFA qualification.
* Familiarity with social media and its operation in the business community is essential.
* Prior experience in banking or credit unions is beneficial.
* Excellent customer service skills, interest in serving customers, and proficiency in English are required.
* Good organizational, administrative, and communication skills are necessary.

Benefits and Other Information:
This position offers a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience. The job involves working a 37.5-hour week over five days from Tuesday to Saturday.
