Summary
Our client, a leading biopharmaceutical company in Co. Cork, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for improving equipment reliability, supporting maintenance optimisation, and implementing engineering solutions to prevent equipment failures. This role will contribute to the site’s long-term asset management strategy and play a key part in continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance and operations.
Responsibilities
* Develop engineering solutions to prevent repetitive failures and costly equipment problems.
* Lead reliability-focused investigations, analysing equipment performance data and maintenance history to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
* Maintain and develop the Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) programme, including vibration analysis, thermography, and other predictive techniques.
* Optimise preventive and predictive maintenance activities to improve uptime, efficiency, and asset life cycle cost.
* Support the maintenance and operations teams in ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and compliance with GMP and EHS standards.
* Implement digital tools and SMART maintenance strategies to enhance maintenance performance and reporting.
* Benchmark industry best practices to introduce innovative reliability and asset management improvements.
* Support and coach maintenance planners to achieve key KPIs such as schedule adherence, resource utilisation, and cost effectiveness.
* Participate in and lead maintenance improvement projects related to equipment reliability, BOM accuracy, and spare parts optimisation.
Qualifications & Experience
* Engineering degree qualification, preferably mechanical or electrical.
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a reliability, maintenance, or asset management role within a manufacturing or industrial environment (biopharma experience preferred).
* Ability to analyse and identify trends and patterns. CMMS knowledge is highly desirable.
* Analytics experience with maintenance data can be an advantage.
