Job Description
We are working with this well‑established organisation within the manufacturing and distribution sector to hire an experienced Cost Management Accountant to join their finance team. This role is a new role in the organisation with lots of opportunity to make you mark by providing accurate cost information, supporting operational decision‑making, and driving cost efficiency across production and distribution functions.
Analyse, interpret, and record financial data relating to production, manufacturing and distribution costs.
Manage inventory valuation, standard costing, and COGS.
Perform detailed variance analysis and provide clear explanations for operational and management teams.
Develop, implement, and maintain cost accounting policies, procedures and systems.
Identify cost drivers and recommend opportunities to improve cost efficiency and operational performance.
Support budgeting, forecasting and cost modelling processes.
Prepare regular management reports highlighting cost trends, variances and risks.
Work closely with operations, supply‑chain and finance teams to strengthen cost controls.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls and audit requirements.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within finance and operations.
Salary: €65k – €75k plus package.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
Professional qualification or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
Strong knowledge of inventory valuation, standard costing and variance analysis.
Advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Experience working with ERP systems and strong Excel capability.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner cross‑functionally.
