We are seeking an experienced Cost Controller to lead project cost management for this major capital expansion programme.
You will be the financial guardian of capital projects, ensuring rigorous budget control, accurate forecasting, and proactive risk management across a 24/7 manufacturing operation exporting to 93 markets globally.
Responsibilities: Own and manage project budgets, cost risk registers, contingency planning, and change management processes Deliver detailed monthly and rolling forecasts with variance analysis against baseline budgets Implement Project Controls Plans (PCP) and ensure cost governance aligns with quality and timeline commitments Monitor, track, and report progress, costs, and risks—escalating forecast overruns early to enable timely corrective action Support commercial bid analysis, contract negotiations, and supplier invoice validation in partnership with Finance Maintain comprehensive cost control registers (Costbook, PO & Invoice Registers, Change Management logs)Drive value improvement initiatives and share best practices across the project portfolio Participate in risk/opportunity workshops, project reviews, and lessons learned sessions Requirements: Essential: Engineering and Business qualifications with 5+ years' experience in Capital Projects Cost Control within pharmaceutical facility projects Deep understanding of capital project agreements and work package implementation Proven track record developing cost control processes for large-scale capital projects in pharma ERP proficiency (SAP, Agora, or similar) for project cost management and reporting Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and Power Point Strong decision-making ability with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Experience managing diverse supplier relationships (design, construction, equipment, professional services) and contract administration Ability to build effective working relationships across cross-functional teams and external partners If you are looking for a new and refreshing role or have any questions about the position, then give me a call, drop me a message, or apply directly below and get ahead of the crowd I look forward to hearing from you.
