An established and innovative manufacturing organisation based in Longford is currently seeking a Lead Operator (4-Cycle Shift) to join their progressive production team.
This key role supports production efficiency, safety, and quality standards across all shifts, ensuring smooth daily operations and effective leadership within a 25-person team.
Responsibilities:
1. Maintain safety and housekeeping to the highest standards in line with company GMP, customer, and policy requirements
2. Participate in Health & Safety internal audits and promote a strong safety culture
3. Maintain real-time IQMS system integrity, generating and issuing shift reports to the Shift Manager
4. Input production data into IQMS and create work orders, print labels, and distribute DHR documentation
5. Run and participate in PIT (Performance Improvement Team) meetings
6. Train Operators on the use of IQMS scanners at all workstations
7. Ensure proper segregation and disposal of waste materials in accordance with company procedures
8. Verify that the correct materials are used at each workstation and address discrepancies promptly
9. Present finished goods to the warehouse in accordance with GMP and customer standards
10. Ensure seamless shift handovers, providing detailed reports and updates to colleagues and management
11. Identify and report key production or safety issues to the Shift Manager
12. Support staff training needs and liaise with the Shift Manager to implement development plans
13. In the absence of the Shift Manager, assume responsibility for shift supervision and coordination
Requirements:
14. Proven experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
15. Good understanding of plastics manufacturing processes and familiarity with IQMS systems
16. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across all levels
17. Ability to work independently and use initiative to solve problems and maintain productivity
18. High level of computer literacy, including experience with production reporting systems
19. Proactive in identifying process improvements and maintaining compliance with production and safety standards
20. Previous supervisory experience in a production environment preferred
21. Willingness to work a 4-cycle shift pattern
Salary:
Competitive hourly rate: €17.32 per hour (€37,837.80 per annum)
