Overview
Seeking a Technical Writer to own and elevate documentation for EHQ. You’ll work closely with engineering, product, design, and product marketing to define documentation standards, close important gaps, and embed documentation into the feature release process as a first‑class deliverable.
This role focuses on achieving a strong, maintainable state for EHQ documentation, after which ongoing changes will follow the best‑practices and standards that you created.
Responsibilities
Audit and improve existing documentation
Review existing wikis, EHQ UI, and internal notes for accuracy and completeness
Partner with engineers to correct inaccuracies and rewrite content in plain language for non‑engineers
Work with engineers, PM, PMM and design to expand documentation as features are built
Ensure every new capability ships with clear self‑serve setup instructions, examples, and known nuances
Establish documentation standards and workflows
Create and maintain a framework for documentation standards (structure, terminology, examples, logging definitions)
Make documentation expectations explicit in feature requirements, while still expecting engineers to contribute content as part of their responsibilities
Focus on self‑serve and role‑based journeys
Produce role‑/recipe‑based flows that match how frequent customers (e.g., lifecycle, CRM, campaign specialists) actually use EHQ
Improve existing documentation and create net‑new coverage for gaps identified in the appendix below
Impact Metrics
Reduced support tickets and escalations related to EHQ configuration and behavior
Positive feedback from users and stakeholders (e.g., PMM, campaign specialists, lifecycle and CRM teams) on clarity and ease of setup
Documentation coverage and freshness
% of key EHQ surfaces with complete documentation
Content that is clearly timestamped and kept in sync with product changes
We also expect time to configure and launch EHQ experiences to improve in combination with UI changes and better comprehension, even if we lack a perfect historical benchmark today.
Required Experience
Experience writing for technical platforms used by non‑engineers
Ability to collaborate closely with engineers, PM, design, and PMM
Strength in structuring role‑based and recipe‑based documentation and guided flows
Demonstrated ability to use AI to improve speed and quality in your day‑to‑day workflow for relevant outputs
Education
4+ years experience in a technical writer role
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience, is expected
Candidate Profile
A great candidate leads cross‑functional collaboration, designs clear role‑based documentation, and uses AI thoughtfully to improve quality and speed, while an average candidate mainly focuses on writing tasks without elevating systems or workflows
Disqualifiers include unclear writing, poor attention to detail, and difficulty collaborating with cross‑functional partners or following style guides and structured systems. We will also screen out candidates who resist using AI responsibly, and show little curiosity about the product
Must Have Skills
Creating clear, standardized, and role‑based documentation for intricate technical platforms utilized by both engineers and non‑engineers
Cross‑functional collaboration with engineering, product, design, and marketing stakeholders
Responsible, effective use of AI to improve speed and quality of documentation
Role Offering
This role offers end‑to‑end ownership of bringing EHQ documentation to a strong, maintainable state for a high‑impact internal platform that powers large‑scale, experiment‑driven product experiences used across Client
EHQ is a highly collaborative and user‑centric team, partnering closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to continuously improve how Client teams launch features to users
In this role, you will gain experience defining documentation standards and role‑based flows for a complex, widely used internal platform while building modern, AI‑augmented documentation practices
