**Job Opportunity: Event Management Director**


Job Description

The Event Management Director is responsible for driving revenue and guest satisfaction through effective management of the Meeting & Events Department.

This role would suit a highly experienced event professional with deep knowledge of the full event cycle from initial enquiry through to handover to operations.

Key responsibilities include:

* Maximizing profit and guest satisfaction through effective event management
* Directing day-to-day management of reactive sales & event planning to include enquiries, proposals, chasing, contracting, event planning and internal and external client face-to-face interactions
* Planning and assigning work, managing and overseeing the M&E team
* Overseeing the collaboration, management and action of customer satisfaction feedback post event
* Proactively resolving any outstanding issues
* Completing weekly forecasts, plans, and productivity reports for management meetings
* Completing monthly revenue and P&L reports
* Participating in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and financial plans
* Monitoring budget and upselling products and services to increase revenue
* Reviewing upcoming M&E business pipeline, identifying gaps and ensuring proactive measures are taken to achieve set targets in conjunction with DOSM
* Devising creative ideas and strategies to drive business and to upsell to clients with contracted business
* Responsible for recruitment and training of the M&E Team
* Providing mentoring, coaching, and regular feedback to M&E Team to help manage conflict and improve team member performance
* Promoting teamwork and the delivery of consistent 5-star service through daily communication and coordination with other departments


Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have at least two years' experience as a Senior Event Manager/Director of Meeting and Events with proven track record in leading a large team in a high-volume environment.

* A structured and organized work approach with the ability to prioritize workload
* A strong sales focus with the ability to build rapport easily with clients and convert leads into confirmed bookings
* A positive outlook and ability to project a professional image to all collaborators, both face to face and via phone/email
* Ability to manage guest room and meeting space inventories
* Knowledge of event technology products and services
* Knowledge of contract management and legalities
* Strong communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Opera Sales & Catering
* Strong command of the English Language
