Reporting to: As a Meeting & Events Operative you will report directly to the Deputy General Manager (or such person as designated by management).
The Hotel: The four-star Lough Rea Hotel & Spa is a member of the Só Hotel group, comprising of 91 guest bedrooms that also boasts one of County Galway finest function rooms. Responsible: As the Meeting & Events Operative, you will be responsible for providing our guests with exceptional customer service, Conference & Banqueting set up and any other duties requested by Management.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
* Ensure that the Department operates in a guest focused manner; always striving to exceed guest expectations thereby building customer and brand loyalty.
* To be fully aware of the hotel facilities, activities, targets and promotions, special activities within the hotel
* Assist guests at all times and ensure all guests receive a genuine, warm, friendly, courteous welcome during their stay.
* To anticipate guests needs whenever possible to enhance quality service and in turn enhance guest satisfaction.
* To deal with customer complaints in a professional and courteous manner in accordance with company procedures. Provide speedy resolution of guest's queries or problems and report guest feedback to manager on duty.
* Flexible work schedule required
* Setting up, clearing down and cleaning of the Conference & Banqueting Centre's and Meeting Rooms (working alone for long periods of time).
* Assist in the clearing and cleaning of the roof top and all Public Areas of the hotel (working alone). Ensure all cleaning schedules are adhered to on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
* To report on duty on time in accordance with hotel grooming standards.
* The highest possible standard of personal hygiene, dress, appearance, body language and conduct are maintained at all times.
* To attend all statutory or hotel training sessions when required by management.
* To provide support where necessary in other areas of the hotel or carry out any other reasonable tasks as requested by management.
* To maintain own working area, tidy and in good shape.
* To report defective materials and equipment to appropriate individual.
* To be familiar with and adhere to all rules and regulations of the hotel with specific regard to:
* Fire Procedures
* Health and safety at work
* Security regulations
* To maintain good liaisons and communications with management and all other departments.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Proven experience as a Meeting & Events Operative or similar role.
* Must be flexible for Early & Late shifts.
* Outstanding communication skills
* Good understanding of useful computer programs.
