Job Description
Main purpose of the role:
Ensure the store operates efficiently and effectively, providing customers with excellent service and fresh food in a clean, safe environment. Achieve store targets (sales and profitability) through effective management of people and operations.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have/be
* At least 2 years' experience in a relevant position
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
* Experience balancing cash/tills
* Excellent communication skills
* Good delegation skills
* Highly driven with a strong work ethic
* Understanding of how to achieve KPIs and targets
* Commercial awareness and brand consciousness
* Passion for grocery retail
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Main duties:
* Live the Centra brand values: Proud, Energetic, Imaginative, Community-Based
* Set, monitor, and achieve sales targets related to gross profit margin, net margin, waste, and other KPIs in collaboration with the Store Manager
* Implement planograms accurately and ensure correct product range in store
* Maintain high standards of store presentation and merchandising
* Lead by example, fostering teamwork, a positive attitude, and a respectful, inclusive environment
* Support the Store Manager in team development, training, and store operations
* Manage employee performance through regular feedback, recognition, and encouragement
* Handle customer queries professionally and efficiently, adhering to store policies
* Understand margin management across all departments
* Engage with new initiatives and adapt to new ways of working
