The Opportunity
EirGrid's Data and System Integration team is expanding its transformation programme and looking for Software Developers and Integrators to support us in achieving our strategic goal of delivering the Energy Transition.
Technology generates vast volumes of data, which is at the core of our operations. The teams' work will enable data-driven decision making at all levels of the organisation, leveraging data as a key enabler for the transition of the Power System to Net Zero.
Key Responsibilities
1. Development, test and deployment of bespoke applications across multiple disciplines and platforms supporting critical business operations.
2. Development of modules delivering discreet functionality used across different business functions and applications promoting consistency, reusability and interoperability.
3. Development of data pipelines to democratise data across the organisation, enabling data-driven decision making at all areas of the organisation.
4. Work closely with business stakeholders to solve real-world business problems enabling business transformation to a highly automated and data-driven organisation.
5. Development of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to provide data to internal and external stakeholders.
6. Design of scalable, future-proofed design in the context of the existing, and envisaged, IT estate.
7. Application of data quality standards across EirGrid.
About You
Requirements
1. A minimum of 5 years' experience in software development supported by a degree or qualification in a technical discipline.
2. Experience of delivering software in an Agile/Dev-Ops environment.
3. Experience in data management and transfer techniques.
4. The ability to communicate with staff at all levels within, and external to, the organisation.
5. Self-motivated with an ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
6. Experience in manipulation of data in an Oracle PL/SQL and MySQL environment.
7. Familiarity with Visual Studio, .NET, C#, TFS, ASP.NET, XML, MS Azure Portal and other relevant tools.
