Key Responsibilities:
* Spearhead nursing care delivery to meet residents' individualized and holistic needs, collaborating with the Director of Nursing to ensure seamless execution.
* Strategically lead clinical services, guaranteeing quality-assured and resident-centered care through effective communication and empowerment.
* Develop and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines in conjunction with the DON, ensuring compliance and adherence across all staff levels.
Prioritizing Quality and Standards:
* Conduct regular spot checks and internal audits to verify documentation accuracy and identify areas for improvement.
* Cultivate an environment of continuous learning and best practice, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing among staff.
* Ensure accurate and timely submission of notifications to HIQA, adhering to regulatory requirements.
Leadership and People Management:
* Mentor and develop staff, promoting a culture of trust, open communication, and teamwork.
* Collaborate with HR to address local issues, maintain accurate records, and support employee growth.
* Foster a harmonious work environment, balancing the needs of residents, relatives, and employees.
Training and Development:
* Stay updated on relevant regulations, legislation, and industry advancements, incorporating this knowledge into training programs.
* Coordinate INO forums and leverage available courses to enhance nurse development.
* Evaluate training effectiveness, providing feedback and updating training needs based on current requirements.
Health and Safety:
* Ensure thorough understanding and implementation of Health and Safety policies, promoting a safe working environment.
* Monitor hygiene, cleanliness, and tidiness standards, maintaining high levels of compliance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Registered in the relevant division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives (NMBI).
* Minimum 7 years post-registration experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership/management role within a healthcare setting.
* Aptitude in People Management, demonstrated by possession of an appropriate qualification (minimum level 6 on the National Framework of Qualifications).
