As a core member of our Product Development team you will work with dedicated professionals to ensure our clients maintain access to their critical information assets while keeping Citco ahead of industry trends.
About the Role
Citco Technology Management is looking for an IT Senior Developer to develop and maintain our web applications. You will be part of the IT department that manages the core Reconciliation platform for the firm. You will be closely working with a talented bunch of product managers, architects and developers across the globe.
Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, enhance Java-based web applications.
* Investigate and resolve technical issues through debugging, research, and root‑cause analysis.
* Work closely with the application support team to ensure timely resolution of critical production issues.
* Troubleshoot and optimize performance issues in the TLM Premium web application (developed by the external vendor SmartStream).
* Design, develop and maintain Oracle database objects including procedures, functions, views, packages.
* Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture with the ability to provide performance and design insights.
* Analyze database SQL queries in real time and implement optimizations to improve the database performance.
* Monitor, analyze and troubleshoot performance issues on AWS EC2 instances hosting the applications.
* Stay up to date with technical enhancements, emerging tools and new functionality relevant to the role.
* Continuously learn, evaluate and implement new technologies to improve system performance and efficiency.
* Collaborate with business and product management teams to clarify requirements and deliver solutions.
* Coordinate with the DevOps team to push the application and infra changes to higher environments.
* Communicate effectively with peers, leads and cross‑functional teams.
* Actively participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand‑ups and retrospectives.
About You
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
* Senior Developer with expertise across both back‑end and front‑end systems.
* Minimum of 7‑8 years experience in developing web and backend applications using Java, JBoss or other Java‑based Web Application servers.
* Minimum of 1‑2 years of hands‑on experience developing scripts using Python.
* Strong understanding of SQL and PL/SQL with proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues.
* Hands‑on experience managing and optimizing large‑scale databases with high‑volume tables and complex queries.
* Working knowledge of SmartStream’s TLM Premium is a huge plus.
* AWS Cloud‑based training and/or industry‑recognized cloud certification are highly desirable.
* Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
* Well‑rounded individual capable of performing several roles with ability to work in a fast‑paced, complex IT environment.
* Personal qualities: Possess a strong work ethic, self‑starter, creative, a focus on customer service, possess a high level of energy, enthusiasm, excellent written and verbal communication and people skills, sense of urgency, team player, strong organizational skills, ability to multi‑task, and commitment.
* Demonstrated proficiency in interpersonal and communication skills including oral and written English.
