Hseq advisor (ennis)

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading contractor within the civils and utilities sector to recruit a HSEQ Advisor.
This HSEQ Advisor role is key to supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality systems across the business. Working across both site and office environments, you will ensure compliance with legal and company standards while actively promoting a strong, practical HSEQ culture.
You'll work closely with management, site teams, and employees, providing hands‑on support, guidance, and coaching to ensure safe, compliant, and high‑quality operations across multiple locations.
In your new role:
Advise management and employees on HSEQ legislation, best practice, and company proceduresCarry out regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessmentsAssist in developing and reviewing method statements, risk assessments, and safe systems of workDeliver HSEQ inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefingsMonitor PPE compliance and safe working practices on siteSupport the implementation and maintenance of environmental management systemsMonitor environmental performance including waste management, pollution prevention, and sustainability initiativesMaintain waste logs and conduct environmental inspectionsSupport the Quality Management System, including internal audits and corrective/preventive actionsEnsure HSEQ documentation is current, controlled, and aligned with operational activitiesMaintain HSEQ records, statistics, and reports to support compliance and performance monitoringAssist with external audits, client requirements, and certification obligationsPromote a proactive HSEQ culture and encourage positive employee engagementIdentify improvement opportunities and support HSEQ initiatives across the organisationTravel to company sites as required and support occasional out‑of‑hours work where necessary
What you will need to succeed:
Experience in a HSEQ or equivalent roleNEBOSH General CertificateWorking knowledge of safety regulations and standardsKnowledge of auditing, risk assessments, and incident managementIT and numeracy skills (MS Office)Excellent communication and influencing skills, ability to engage stakeholders at all levelsFull driving licence
Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):
Higher level qualification in Health & Safety, Quality, or a related disciplineExperience working within construction, civils, or utilities environmentsKnowledge of ISO standards and integrated management system auditingOther relevant Health & Safety certifications
