Key Responsibilities
* Assist with wiring and installation of heat pumps, solar PV, and ventilation systems
* Shadow and learn from qualified electricians during live projects
* Support with tool preparation, site setup, cable runs, and clean-up
* Practice safe use of hand and power tools under supervision
* Attend safety briefings, toolbox talks, and complete required safety training
* Represent Churchfield professionally while working in occupied homes
* Maintain tidy workspaces and communicate clearly with team and homeowners
* Engage fully in off-the-job training (SOLAS blocks) and internal upskilling
* Learn about SEAI codes, building regulations, and industry best practices
Skills and Requirements
* Registered electrical apprentice under the SOLAS scheme
* Safe Pass and Manual Handling
* Willingness to travel to job sites across the West
* Basic tool handling experience (advantageous)
* Punctual, respectful, and eager to learn
* Passionate about energy efficiency and sustainable construction
* Able to follow instructions and work safely on-site
* Good communicator who works well in a team
* Self-motivated and committed to completing all apprenticeship phases
* Attention to detail and pride in delivering quality work
* Previous on-site experience or basic electrical skills (not essential)
* Awareness of energy retrofitting or sustainable technologies (a plus)
* Full clean Irish driving licence (preferred)
