An opportunity has arisen in BAM Ireland's office in Kill (County Kildare) for a Principal Occupational Health & Safety Administrator on a 9-month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the occupational health administration for 620 employees.
Your mission
1. Role models the BAM values and behaviours.
2. Lead and grow a strong health and safety culture across the segment.
3. Create a culture of continuous improvement.
4. Attend senior leadership meetings and support the team with specialist advice.
5. Provide advice and support during significant health and safety incidents, including investigations and reporting.
6. Lead interactions with external agencies during incidents.
7. Use feedback and management info to improve policies and systems.
8. Ensure health and safety policies and procedures are well formulated, monitored, and maintained.
9. Identify opportunities for safety improvements and assist leadership in implementing them.
10. Review and develop the health and safety management system per industry best practices.
11. Ensure all accidents and near misses are reported and investigated.
12. Perform as a matrix manager.
13. Perform other relevant duties as required.
14. Be prepared to deputise for the Director of Occupational Health and Safety.
15. Assist in compiling OHS reports as needed.
Who are we looking for?
1. A degree or diploma in occupational health and safety.
2. Chartered/Certified Membership of IOSH.
3. Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET/PTLLS).
4. Experience managing on a construction site or FM facility.
5. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
6. Ability to deliver health and safety training.
7. Experience leading accident/incident investigations.
8. Thorough knowledge of OHSAS 45001 standards.
9. Good organisational and motivational skills.
