The Role
We are seeking a Custody Oversight Officer to join our Trustee & Depositary team in Dublin. Reporting to the Head of Custody Oversight, this role plays a key part in ensuring the safe and effective oversight of custody arrangements, in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
You'll contribute to the ongoing monitoring, review, and evaluation of custody delegations and outsourcing arrangements, helping to maintain robust controls and safeguard client assets.
Key Responsibilities
* Support management in all aspects of custody oversight in line with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and internal procedures.
* Operate within the Trustee & Depositary custody oversight framework, providing management with key MI across the oversight lifecycle (appointment, monitoring, annual review, and termination) for custody delegation and inter-affiliate outsourcing arrangements.
* Evaluate and monitor the performance of in-scope custody delegations and outsourcing arrangements.
* Prepare and maintain review schedules, completing reviews in line with procedures and planned timelines.
* Prepare and deliver key risk and performance indicators, along with other management information relevant to oversight activities.
* Escalate any urgent or material issues promptly to management.
* Maintain robust processes to manage and monitor market incidents, asset safety concerns, and related issues.
* Analyse regulatory and market developments to identify potential risks to asset safekeeping and recommend mitigation strategies.
* Operate with a high degree of autonomy, conducting analyses and ensuring alignment with both regulatory and internal control standards.
* Develop and maintain meaningful tracking metrics for management reporting and escalation.
Skills & Experience
* Extensive relevant experience within custody oversight or a similar function.
* Third-level qualification in Business, Legal, Accounting, or Finance (or equivalent).
* Experience in Global Custody and Outsourcing Oversight preferred.
* Strong understanding of UCITS and AIFMD fund structures and regulatory obligations.
* Knowledge of prime brokers and sub-custodians desirable.
* Proven ability to identify, summarise, and escalate key operational risk issues effectively.
