PwC Ireland is seeking a senior commercial lawyer to support the growth of its Irish business in consulting, technology, and managed services. The role requires at least 6 years' experience providing commercial legal advice, preferably in-house or at a law firm.
About the Role
The successful candidate will work closely with delivery teams and have direct access to clients and their legal teams. They will act as a face of PwC in negotiations.
Responsibilities
1. Negotiating complex contract negotiations on behalf of the Office of General Counsel (OGC), including non-standard contracts, public body contracts, global framework agreements, MSAs, and other multi-territory contracts.
2. Negotiating commercial contracts with a focus on technology implementation, managed services, outsourcing, and other IT-related contracts.
3. Leading technology contracting for the Firm.
4. Advising on data protection law and reviewing/ negotiating data protection terms in client and supplier agreements.
5. Collaborating with the wider PwC network on cross-border deals, including Global Framework Agreements and Master Services Agreements.
6. Creating and maintaining precedents and guidance notes for use throughout PwC's business.
7. Staying up-to-date with changes in current law and regulations to keep the business informed.
Requirements
* Detailed knowledge of Irish law, at least 6 years' PQE (or equivalent); top-tier law firm experience or in-house experience is advantageous.
* Proven experience in commercial contract negotiation with a focus on technology implementation contracts, managed services, outsourcing, and other IT-related contracts.
* Experience in privacy and data protection topics is an advantage but not a requirement.
* Strong drafting skills.
* Ability to handle complex negotiations with sound judgment to serve the firm's best interests.
* Adaptability, open-mindedness, and innovation.
* Sound judgment and well-developed influencing skills; confidence to work with senior management across the business.
* A demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and become a trusted advisor to the business.
