Role Overview
As a Senior IT Engineer at a leading IT Managed Service Provider, you will play a vital role in delivering advanced technical solutions and support to our diverse client base. This position is fully remote, offering flexibility while ensuring our clients receive top-tier expertise in server infrastructure, cloud platforms, and enterprise systems. You will work closely with a dynamic team, contribute to project delivery, and act as a technical escalation point for complex issues.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead and execute Hyper-V server installations, upgrades, and maintenance across client environments.
· Manage and optimise Azure cloud services, including deployments, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
· Plan and deliver Microsoft 365 migrations, ensuring seamless transition and minimal disruption for clients.
· Diagnose and resolve advanced technical problems related to networks, servers, VoIP systems and cloud platforms.
· Collaborate with project teams to design, implement, and document IT solutions tailored to client needs.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices, security standards, and emerging technologies.
Required and Desirable Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in IT Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
· Minimum of 5 years' experience in IT engineering, ideally within a managed service provider environment.
· Relevant industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Microsoft 365 Certified, e.g., MS-102, AZ-104, SC-200, MCSA/MCSE, CompTIA Network+ or equivalent are highly desirable.
Essential Technical Competencies
· Expertise in Windows Server (2019/2022/2025) installation, configuration, and troubleshooting with added emphasis on Hyper-V.
· In-depth knowledge of Azure platform management, including virtual machines, networking, and security.
· Proven experience with Microsoft 365 migrations, tools, administration, and support.
· Familiarity with MS Teams Voice.
· Strong grasp of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls).
· Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
· Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams)
· Intune/Endpoint Manager
· Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (EDR)
· Microsoft Hyper-V
· Backup and DR solutions
· Excellent understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
