Engineering Manager – REF: 2603
We are recruiting an Engineering Manager to join our Water design team. The successful candidate will lead project design and management, provide client‑facing support, and develop a broad range of skills in design and project management.
Responsibilities
Manage client relationships and drive business development by maintaining and growing existing workloads and securing new projects.
Lead a team of engineers, delivering projects, managing performance, and developing competency.
Act as project lead for design and contract management from conceptual phase through to project completion across water sector projects, including municipal water and wastewater pumping stations and treatment plants.
Lead the project engineering team in developing preliminary and detailed design reports, calculations, and drawings.
Collaborate and plan design work and deliverables with the wider MEICA team.
Ensure all designs are completed in accordance with relevant standards and specifications.
Ensure all designs comply with applicable Health and Safety standards and regulations.
Attend progress meetings with the Water design team, clients, contractors, and suppliers.
Requirements
Engineering degree (Level 8 or higher) in Mechanical, Process, or a similar discipline.
10+ years of post‑graduate, relevant design experience; CEng is beneficial but not essential.
Experience in the Water Industry.
Proficiency with relevant software packages such as SUMO, WAVE, AFT, or equivalent.
Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office.
A problem‑solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
Full driving licence and own transport required.
Fluent written and spoken English; strong communication and interpersonal skills.
