Let's see where your talent could take you.Line of ServiceInternal Firm ServicesIndustry/SectorNot ApplicableSpecialismIFS - Risk & Quality (R&Q)Management LevelManagerJob Description & SummaryWe are looking to recruit an Independence Manager to join our Independence Team as part of the PwC Ireland Risk & Quality function.Purpose-led work you’ll be part ofA career in Risk Management in a dynamic team that will provide you with the opportunity to advance and foster integrity-based decision making and conduct by PwC professionals throughout our organisation, including:Opportunities to interact with partners and practice teams across the firm and Independence Specialists from across the PwC Global network;Wide exposure to the breadth of the firm's services and how we deliver these services;Development of technical knowledge of a key area of firm regulatory risk.The PwC Ireland Independence Team is part of the firm’s Risk & Quality group within Business Enablement Solutions (BES) that provides critical business support to the firm in a complex and changing regulatory environment. It is responsible for working with the practice across all Lines of Services to ensure that the firm meets its regulatory responsibilities as required under PwC Global Independence policy, US SEC rules, EU rules, local Irish rules, and other territories’ rules.Responsibilities:As a manager, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. You’ll focus on promoting and monitoring compliance with the applicable external laws and regulations as well as internal policies and procedures to help manage PwC’s regulatory, litigation, and reputational risk.In this role your responsibilities include but are not limited to:Responsible for:Primary point of contact for the Personal Independence Compliance Testing (PICT) / Point in Time (PIT) Testing / Checkpoint Clearance Testing Selectee, which includes conducting initial meetings to discuss the requirements of the Declaration request, and follow-up meetings to address and seek agreement on any findings from the testing;Oversee the compliance audits (PICT / PIT / Checkpoint Clearance) conducted by Service Delivery Centre (SDC) to ensure adherence to our Personal Independent policies and regulatory requirements;Collaborate with the SDC team to ensure that all audits / reviews meet the necessary standards and include comprehensive documentation;Provide guidance to the SDC team on personal Independence policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements as necessary;Assist with other ad-hoc Checkpoint reviews as required (e.g., the Signing Director Dispensation review, the Beneficiary or Other Indirect Report, etc.);Assist in reviewing Checkpoint back-office monitoring controls;Develop and implement strategies to improve compliance with our personal independence policies, ensuring we meet our regulatory and internal standards;Communicate findings to management and complete additional analysis when necessary;Provide oversight and direction to junior team members responsible for certain Independence processes and activities;Offer Independence advice to partners, staff, and engagement teams across the firm;Handle complex consultations on Personal Independence matters;Develop or update guidance on Personal Independence related matters;Develop or update Personal Independence training material and deliver training;Create communication materials on Independence, such as bulletins;Deliver ad hoc Independence projects;Coach and mentor junior colleagues to promote knowledge sharing;Participate in the innovation and development of Independence processes and PwC Global initiatives.Experiences and skills:Minimum 7 years experience in professional services including 5 years in audit, risk, or compliance roles.Knowledge of personal independence rules (SEC, PwC Global Independence Policy, IAASA Ethical Standard) is ideal but not required, as training will be provided.Experience applying policy/regulatory requirements and guidance to assess permissibility of personal relationships, leveraging problem-solving skills, and providing conclusions.Strong oral and written communication skills to probe information and communicate effectively with impact and empathy.Focus on client service when dealing with partners and staff at all levels.High accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to analyze, connect, and structure information while applying professional skepticism.Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, changing environment with various stakeholders.Strong people and project management skills, with ability to monitor reviews and meet deadlines.EducationDegrees/Field of Study preferred: (Specify if known)CertificationsCertifications required: (Specify if known)Required SkillsAccepting Feedback, Accounting Practices, Active Listening, Analytical Thinking, Business Ethics, Coaching and Feedback, Communication, Compliance and Standards, Compliance Oversight, Compliance Program Implementation, Compliance Review, Compliance Risk Assessment, Compliance Training, Developing Policies and Guidelines, Embracing Change, Emotional Regulation, Empathy, Ethical Standards, and more.Optional Skills(List optional skills if any)Desired LanguagesIf applicable, specify languages.Travel RequirementsNot SpecifiedAvailable for Work Visa Sponsorship?NoGovernment Clearance Required?NoJob Posting End DateNot specifiedPwC Ireland is committed to creating an inclusive environment that promotes equality and dignity at work.
