Job Description:
We are currently seeking applications for the position of Community Support Worker/Care Assistant in Reach Ability, across our Residential Houses.
The successful candidate will support the Team Leader, Residential Team Leader, and Residential and Day Services Manager in ensuring the physical and emotional well-being, as well as the personal hygiene, of people with intellectual disabilities.
Key Duties include:
* Supporting service users in community living, promoting choice, social participation, personal relationships, education, and development.
* Providing delegated responsibility for the well-being and hygiene of individuals attending the unit.
* Creating a supportive environment for development, including activities like communication, motor skills, sports, physiotherapy, medical care, behavior modification, social integration, dietary, literacy, work skills, massage, and job coaching.
* Maintaining hygiene of equipment and recording progress.
* Acting as a link between the unit and families, maintaining confidentiality, participating in meetings and planning, and supervising students and volunteers.
* Administering medicines as per policy, participating in quality initiatives, and cooperating with audits.
* Supporting transportation, including driving organizational vehicles, supporting service users on outings, and routine vehicle inspections.
* Participating in ongoing training, performance management, and community inclusion initiatives.
* Supporting service users in daily routines, meals, and hygiene, and assisting with outings and activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
* QQI (Fetac) Level 5 in Healthcare Support or equivalent, or currently undertaking, or a BA in Applied Social Studies or similar.
* At least one year of community support or care assistant experience.
* Full Clean Driving License.
* Eligible to work in Ireland.
Remuneration:
The successful candidate will be appointed on the Care Assistant HSE Hybrid Payscale (€14.88 - €20.66 per hour DOE).
