We are seeking a senior technical leader to join our Business and Client Services (BCS) Delivery team and provide architectural leadership across multiple delivery squads. This position is based in Dublin, Ireland with a hybrid working pattern.You will drive the architectural vision and design of foundational enterprise-wide solutions focused on document ingestion, unstructured data storage, knowledge management, and process automation. You will set engineering standards and best practices across BCS and mentor engineering talent. You will identify opportunities where emerging technologies, particularly AI, LLMs, and modern tooling, can solve complex problems. You will work closely with clients and stakeholders to understand needs and guide teams in designing elegant, scalable solutions that deliver measurable impact across Marsh.
What you need to haveMinimum 6 years of software engineering experience with a proven track record of technical leadership and impact.Deep expertise in full-stack development with proficiency in modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular) and backend technologies (NestJS/NodeJS, Python, or similar).Demonstrated experience designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems and enterprise architecture.Strong understanding of cloud-native technologies, infrastructure, and deployment practices (Kubernetes, serverless, CI/CD).Hands-on experience with AI/LLM technologies, including practical knowledge of prompt engineering, model integration, and RAG architecture.Proven ability to mentor and develop engineers, with examples of elevating team capabilities and establishing engineering standards.Experience leading architectural decisions across multiple teams or projects, balancing technical excellence with business pragmatism.Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, from engineers to executives.Strong opinions loosely held—opinionated about technology choices while remaining open to new perspectives.Insatiable curiosity about emerging technologies and a track record of successfully introducing new approaches to solve complex problems.
What makes you stand outExperience as a Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, or similar senior technical leadership role.Deep expertise in AI/LLM technologies with production experience building and scaling RAG systems, agent frameworks, or similar advanced AI solutions.Track record of identifying and championing new technologies that delivered significant business value.Experience in document ingestion, unstructured data processing, knowledge management, or search systems at scale.Demonstrated success mentoring teams and individuals to achieve higher levels of technical excellence.Strong knowledge of modern data architectures, including vector databases, graph databases, and hybrid storage approaches.Experience working in fintech, insurance, or other regulated industries with complex compliance requirements.Contributions to open source, technical writing, conference speaking, or other visible technical leadership activities.Experience bridging multiple technical domains (e.g., AI/ML, distributed systems, data engineering) to create innovative solutions.
