An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Accountant to join a well-established Irish business on a part-time basis.
This is a newly created role, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to make a real impact within a growing finance function.
This is a hybrid role based in Shannon, Co.
Clare, offering strong flexibility and a broad, hands-on finance position.
Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the successful candidate will support the finance function across multiple business entities, taking ownership of day-to-day financial operations, monthly management accounts, payroll coordination, invoicing, credit control, statutory compliance, cashflow reporting and finance process improvements.
This role would suit a part-qualified or fully qualified accountant who enjoys working in a busy, practical finance environment and is comfortable managing a varied range of responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate monthly management accounts within agreed timelines.
Support financial margin reporting and management information.
Complete intercompany reconciliations across business entities.
Manage treasury activity, cash receipts, supplier payments and cashflow reporting.
Oversee credit control and debtor management.
Manage the relationship with the outsourced payroll provider.
Review payroll outputs and support accurate, compliant payroll processing.
Oversee invoicing and pay/bill processes.
Ensure compliance with VAT, PAYE/PRSI, RCT, income tax and other statutory requirements.
Coordinate year-end statutory returns and audit requirements.
Support budgeting, planning, variance analysis and KPI reporting.
Ensure accounting systems are used effectively across the finance function.
Identify and implement process improvements.
Act as a key finance contact for internal stakeholders.
Candidate Requirements
Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant — ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
Minimum 3–5 years' relevant accounting or finance experience.
Experience preparing monthly management accounts.
Strong knowledge of Irish statutory compliance, including VAT, PAYE/PRSI, RCT and income tax.
Accounting software experience required; Sage experience would be an advantage.
Experience working with payroll processes or outsourced payroll providers would be an advantage.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Practical, solutions-focused and commercially aware.
Comfortable working independently while supporting a wider finance team.
