Our Group Finance function is undergoing a major technology and process improvement agenda, and this role will be at the heart of that change.As a Business Analyst, you will work across Finance, Technology, and senior stakeholders to reimagine how finance operates — improving efficiency, insight, automation, and decision-making across the organisation.This is not a "business-as-usual" BA role. You will help design the future-state finance operating model, influence system and data architecture decisions, and see your work translate directly into tangible outcomes.The RoleReporting to the Head of Change, Group Finance, you will play a key role in delivering a portfolio of finance change initiatives, including:Process optimisation and simplificationFinance automation and self-service analyticsData and reporting transformationAI-enabled initiativesCore finance system enhancements (e.g. Power BI, SAP S/4HANA, Oracle EPM, Group reporting)You will partner closely with Finance leaders, Project Managers, developers, and data specialists to ensure solutions are fit-for-purpose, scalable, and value-driven.What you will help us to achieveLead the end-to-end business analysis lifecycle, from discovery through to delivery and benefits realisationElicit, analyse, and document clear, outcome-focused business requirementsTranslate complex finance needs into practical, actionable specifications for technical teamsFacilitate workshops and working sessions to drive alignment and informed decision-makingAnalyse current-state processes, identify pain points, and design improved future-state solutionsSupport testing, validation, and implementation to ensure solutions deliver real business valueProduce and maintain high-quality project artefacts (user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps)Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, challenging constructively and promoting best practiceContribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the Finance Change teamMaintain regular communication with Project Managers and stakeholders regarding deliverables, risks, and concerns.What you will need to be successful in the role5+ years' experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within financial services or insuranceStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to get to root causesProven experience working on process, data, and system change initiativesExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholdersExperience with finance systems and analytics tools (e.g. Power BI, SAP S/4HANA, Alteryx, Snowflake, Oracle EPM) is a strong advantageA proactive, curious mindset and genuine interest in transforming how finance works.High attention to detail and ability to produce clear, concise documentation.Key CompetenciesCommunication and InfluencingDrive for ResultsPlanning and OrganisingProblem Solving and Decision MakingTeam Working and Cross Functional CollaborationInnovation and ChangeAbout usIrish Life is one of Ireland's largest financial institutions with a presence across a range of financial services markets.
