We're looking for a passionate and knowledgeable environmental professional to lead our environmental management systems, drive compliance across multiple sites, and champion meaningful sustainability initiatives that align with our wider ESG ambitions.
About the Role
As our Environmental Manager, you will take ownership of the company's environmental policies, compliance programmes, and continuous improvement projects. You'll ensure we meet all environmental legislation and ISO 14001 standards, while leading initiatives that reduce our environmental impact and strengthen our sustainability performance.
What You'll Do
* Develop, manage and maintain environmental policies, procedures and systems in line with ISO 14001 and legal requirements.
* Ensure full compliance across operational sites; preparing for and leading environmental audits and inspections.
* Monitor and interpret environmental legislation, advising on required actions.
* Oversee environmental permits, licences and consents to ensure compliance
* Lead the company's sustainability agenda and work cross-functionally to reduce environmental impact.
* Support the development of environmental targets and contribute to annual sustainability reporting.
* Promote a culture of environmental responsibility and deliver environmental training to colleagues at all levels.
* Monitor, analyse and report on environmental performance metrics (energy, waste, water, emissions, compliance records).
* This is a site based role with travel between multiple locations.
What We're Looking for
* Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
* Proven experience in environmental compliance, management
* Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, ISO 14001, and sustainability best practice.
* Excellent project management and analytical skills.
* Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement and training capabilities.
* Highly organised, detail oriented and effective in a fast-paced environment.
* Proactive mindset with the ability to challenge and improve existing processes.
* Proven experience in environmental compliance, management systems, or sustainability programmes, ideally within manufacturing, FMCG, or logistics.
* Track record of driving environmental improvements and leading successful projects.
* ISO 14001 lead or internal auditor qualification is advantageous.
* Experience in policy creation, incident investigation and supporting corporate sustainability goals is beneficial.
* Strong IT skills including Excel, Work and environmental management systems.
