Design Build Search is seeking a
Project Manager
on behalf of our client to oversee the delivery of engineering projects across waste management, recycling, and agricultural waste processing facilities.
The successful candidate will manage projects from design through installation and commissioning, working closely with engineering teams, suppliers, and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
This is a mobile role suited to a hands-on, practical project manager with strong mechanical and process engineering exposure.
Responsibilities:
* Plan, coordinate, and manage engineering projects from concept to completion
* Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
* Monitor progress and proactively manage risks, issues, and changes
* Ensure all projects are delivered in line with contractual, technical, and safety requirements
* Manage projects involving: Waste management and recycling systems, Plastic recycling processes, Production line systems including conveyors, shredders, wash plants
* Agricultural and animal-derived (AD) waste processing systems
* Liaise with design engineers, fabrication teams, and installation crews
* Review technical drawings, specifications, and method statements
* Act as the main point of contact between clients, contractors, and internal teams
* Attend site meetings, inspections, and commissioning activities
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Project Manager in an engineering or industrial environment
* Engineering qualification (Mechanical, Process, or similar)
* Strong background in waste management, recycling, or production line engineering
* Experience working with mechanical systems such as conveyors, shredders, and processing plants
* Ability to manage multiple projects across different locations
* Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
* Willingness to travel regularly (1–2 days per week)
* Hands-on and practical approach to project delivery
* Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
