Principal Objective of Position
The Head of IT provides leadership and guidance in the planning and implementing of enterprise information systems to enable Certa to achieve its strategic objectives. This includes providing direction for IT-related projects, defining technology standards, and managing IT colleagues.

Core Requirements
Strategic Planning

* Collaborating with senior management to identify Certa's technology needs and opportunities.
* Developing a long-term IT roadmap to support business growth and innovation
* Assessing, recommending, and adopting new technologies to improve operational efficiency and facilitate growth.

Digitalisation

* Drive the digital transformation agenda across the organisation by identifying opportunities to digitise processes and improve customer and employee experiences.
* Evaluate and pilot emerging technologies (e.g. AI, automation, IoT)
* Support the development of reporting, business intelligence (BI), and insights capabilities to aid data-driven decision-making.

IT Governance

* Develop a strong working relationship with the DCC IT Security Team, DCC IT System and Infrastructure Team
* Establish IT policies and objectives that promote efficiency and security.
* Implementing IT governance structures to manage and monitor IT investments and initiatives.
* Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and security standards.
* Work with DCC Group Internal Audit IT Team to ensure that systems are maintained at the appropriate IT Standards
* Collaboration with the Certa GRC & Security function
* Implement and manage cybersecurity policies and procedures.
* Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities.
* Ensure compliance with data protection regulations like GDPR, HIPAA, etc.

Leadership and Team Management

* Recruiting, training, and mentoring IT staff to build a competent and motivated team.
* Provide clear goals, performance feedback, and career development opportunities for team members.
* Coordinate and supervise the day-to-day activities of the IT department.

Budget Management

* Preparing and managing the IT budget to ensure cost-effective service delivery.
* Evaluating and negotiating with vendors for software, hardware, and services.
* Monitoring IT expenditures and ensuring they align with the budgeted amounts.

Infrastructure Management

* Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems and networks.
* Ensure the reliability, performance, and security of the IT infrastructure.
* Implementing and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
* Working within the confines of the Fixed, Flex, Free methodology for the implementation of proposed IT Systems

Project Management

* Manage IT projects in line with Certa's agreed project management framework including;
* Development of detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation.
* Providing training plans, communication strategies, and support mechanisms for the whole business during IT transitions.

Required Skills
Technical Proficiency

* Network Management: Expertise in the configuration and management of networks, including LAN, WAN, and VPN.
* Systems Administration: Proficient in managing servers, databases, and operating systems.
* Cybersecurity: Strong understanding of security frameworks, encryption methodologies, and threat management.
* Project Management: project planning, resource allocation, and scheduling.
* Cloud Platforms: for cloud services and infrastructure management
* Communication & Collaboration: Microsoft Teams, Use Workspace, Sharepoint for team communication, collaboration and document management

Project Management

* Strategic Planning: Ability to align IT initiatives with the broader business strategy.
* Budgeting: Experience in preparing and managing budgets.
* Risk Management: Aptitude for identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies.

Leadership

* Team Management: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage IT teams.
* Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with various stakeholders.
* Decision Making: Strong analytical skills for making informed and timely decisions.
