Overview
Amazon Web Services is hiring a manager to lead Amazon's primary network remediation automation services. This team owns systems that diagnose, root cause, and mitigate impact on the Amazon Network, before orchestrating remediation actions and returning capacity to service to maximise network redundancy. You will lead a group of engineers and scientists to deliver novel automation solutions for the world’s largest network, own strategic planning for your team and products, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver best-in-class network availability outcomes for AWS customers.
Responsibilities
Develop a team of high performing engineers and scientists to continue growing their skills and capability to deliver for customers.
Own the strategy and roadmap for your team’s products.
Work with partners to deliver results that delight AWS network customers. Use working backwards principles to deliver the right product features at the right time.
Ensure the right priority is given to operational excellence through mechanisms like KPIs and business reviews.
Maintain a strong development process that enables consistent delivery over time.
Role Details
A manager in the Remediation Automation team works with the team and partners daily to ensure project delivery is on track and that systems performance delivers the right customer outcomes. Regular 1:1 meetings with direct reports and stakeholders support ongoing visibility into investment and product results.
Basic Qualifications
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live-site operations
Experience in engineering team management
Experience in engineering
Experience in leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services
Experience partnering with product and program management teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and effectiveness
