The Role
Monroe’s are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join their existing team.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Chef in planning, preparing, and executing menus.
* Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
* Maintain food quality, presentation, and consistency according to standards.
* Monitor inventory, order supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimize waste.
* Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
* Step into the Head Chef’s role when required, managing all kitchen operations.
* Contribute to menu development, including seasonal and special offerings.
* To prepare food and work within the kitchen team to ensure dishes are of the highest standards.
* Ensure that the kitchen is organised and that all kitchen areas are kept clean on a daily basis.
* Ensure HACCP and Health & Safety procedures are implemented and records are up to date on a daily basis.
Requirements
* The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
* Candidates should be able to demonstrate flair, creativity, and skill in the kitchen.
* Experience in working in a high volume busy environment.
* Must be able to work well on your own initiative and to work in a team environment.
* Excellent knowledge of HACCP.
