Job Title:
Clinical Support Nurse for Transplant and Urology Services
This is a highly rewarding opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge of registered nurses, pre-registered nurses, and candidate nurses. As a Clinical Support Nurse for transplant and urology services, you will act as a resource facilitator to assist individual nurses in reaching their full potential at each stage of development.
The main focus of this role is to educate and develop the knowledge, interpretative, and decision-making skills of nurses, as well as their technical skills, professional performance standards, and interpersonal skills that they use to provide safe and effective care.
Key Responsibilities:
* To assist newly appointed staff nurses to provide a safe and competent level of nursing care to patients with renal illness.
* To provide training and support to staff nurses in the use of equipment and in the performance of technical procedures.
* To design, implement, and evaluate staff orientation, clinical induction, and ongoing professional development programs for registered nurses in consultation with relevant staff.
* To actively participate in the development and implementation of postgraduate Renal Nursing Programs and Urology/Transplant modules.
* To provide effective leadership in promoting the review and development of evidence-based nursing practice.
* To assist in the development and updating of relevant policies and protocols relevant to the areas and perform relevant audits.
* To participate and promote Quality Improvement programs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc.
* Eligible applicants must be registered in the relevant division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland or entitled to be so registered.
* Must have at least 5 years post-registration experience (or an aggregate of 5 years full-time post-registration experience) of which 2 years must be in the specialty or related area.
* Must demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development.
* Annual registration on the relevant division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
